Health and Safety Coordinator

We are currently looking for a Health and Safety Coordinator. The candidate will report to the Director, Construction and will join a young and dynamic environment.

Head office: Centre distribution WalMart de Vaudreuil – 450 000 s.f.

Details: As of now for a term of approximately 1 year with the possibility of extension for a phase-2 for the Henry-Ford development

• Responsible to develop and update the prevention program for the construction site;
• Oversee the establishment and operation of mechanisms for coordinating the activities of employers on the worksite;
• Identify situations that can be a source of danger;
• Inspect workplaces and make recommendations;
• Ensure that workers are aware of the types of risks related to their work;
• Receive copies of accident notices and investigate events that caused or could have caused an accident;
• Assist the inspector during inspection visits;
• As the contractor's representative on the site committee, the Coordinator must
  • Prepare meeting agendas
  • Compose meeting minutes
  • Keep a record of all meetings and incident reports.

• Excellent interpersonal communications skills;
• Strong leadership and ability to influence;
• Ability to work autonomously and with rigor;
• Ability to demonstrate diplomacy, tact and flexibility in interpersonal communications skills;
• Knowledge of Quebec legislation on occupational health and safety
• A critical thinker with good judgment
• Experience in training security guards on construction sites
• Strong leadership skills.
